August 2017 Driver of the Month

Bobby Kennedy is Dillon Transportation’s August 2017 Driver of the Month.

Bobby started with us in April 2016 as a solo OTR driver for our Monticello, KY regular route run. Bobby is a joy to work with. He is always smiling, loves life, and you can tell he truly enjoys what he does.

Get to know Bobby…

Q: Tell us about yourself.

A: – I married the most beautiful woman in the world. Her name is Elizabeth & we have been married for 8 1/2 years. We have 7 children – 6 boys & 1 girl, ranging from 25 years old to 10 years old. Elizabeth & I have both lived in Monticello, KY all of our lives & we love it here. It is a small town, a good place to raise our children.

Elizabeth has worked at American Woodmark for 19 years  and she is actually the one, that said for me to check out Dillon, when I was looking for a new job back in April of 2016.

My favorite food is Pinto Beans & Cornbread, believe it or not. I could eat that everyday. Elizabeth usually makes that for me on the weekends & I take left overs with me on the truck. 

Q: What do you like to do during your home time?

A: – The best thing in life is spending time with my family. My family is everything to me and I’m very blessed for what I have. Elizabeth & I like to take out the pontoon boat & spend our lazy days on the lake.

If I have a little extra time for myself, I like to hunt & fish.

Q: What do you like about Dillon Transportation & the reason you have stayed for so many years?

A: – Dillon is a family owned company and they all help each other out. I have spent the last 20 years driving and sold my own truck before coming over to Dillon. I love working here and I’ve never been treated better anywhere else. Everyone knows who I am when I come in the door & I have no intentions of leaving. When I need a day off for my family, they get me home as scheduled. I’m thankful for my job and enjoy what I do, I have found a permanent home!
