Safety
Our commitment to provide our customers with ”Service Second to None” requires experienced driving professionals with a proven record of safety and success.
Safety has always been at the top of the list for Dillon Transportation, and we understand that safety starts with our drivers. Dillon Transportation holds quarterly, mandatory safety meetings and abides by all industry safety standards.
Dillon Transportation promotes the following safety measures:
- G.O.A.L. – Get Out And Look
- Three Points of Contact; when entering and exiting the cab or trailer.
- The Five Characteristics of Defensive Driving
-
- Knowledge
- Alertness
- Anticipation
- Judgment
- Skill
- Smith System – Aim high, look 15 seconds into the future. Get the big picture. Keep your eyes moving; scan your mirrors every 5-8 seconds. Leave yourself a way out and make sure others see you.
The results of focusing on safety directly relates to our extremely low claims ratio. Over the last four years we have had a total of 2 claims which makes that a 0.0000068 percent of loads hauled during that time.
Dillon Transportation is very proud of its CSA scores. Our drivers do a great job focusing on safety and abiding by all industry safety standards. Our CSA scores are a direct reflection of that. Truckers Against Trafficking – T.A.T.
Dillon Transportation is a supporter of the Truckers Against Trafficking Organization. Truckers Against Trafficking is a non-profit organization that exists to educate, equip, empower, and mobilize the trucking industry to combat human trafficking as part of their regular jobs.
Domestic sex trafficking occurs along our nation’s highways and at its truck stops, where traffickers can sell their victims to a transient population they believe are less likely to attempt rescue. In response, TAT is asking the 3 million domestic truckers, as well as other members of the trucking industry, to become aware of this issue, and when they suspect a human trafficking case to call the national hotline and report it.

SmartWaySM Carrier
Dillon Transportation is a certified SmartWay Carrier. Protecting our environment is a priority for our organization. We believe we have an obligation to our planet, our neighbors, and our community to do our part in protecting our environment, reducing fuel consumption, and improving our air quality for future generations.
In 2004, the EPA launched the SmartWay—an innovative program that represents environmentally cleaner, more fuel-efficient transportation options.
In its simpler form, the SmartWay program identifies products and services that reduce transportation-related emissions. All EPA SmartWay transportation programs result in significant, measurable air quality and/or greenhouse gas improvements while maintaining or improving current levels of emissions and/or pollutants.
The EPA believes that the quality of the environment is everyone’s responsibility; therefore, the SmartWay program is positioned as a personal choice that can make a difference to the environment.
